All you need to know about Cannaught Place in Delhi
Before we visit the flashback, let’s peek to the modern C.P which is spread all around by the cafes, pubs, international clothing brands, food joints, restaurants, hotels, offices, and of course the central park. Well ! the place got its name after Prince Arthur, the first Duke of Connaught and Strathearn. And it took 5 years (1929-1933) to build such a vast complex, it is divided into two concentric circles; Outer Circle and Inner Circle.
You will always find it crowded with people at any hour of the day. Connaught place itself holds many tourist attractions, like Hanuman Mandir ( a renowned sacred Hindu temple), Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Jantar Mantar, Regal ( first and oldest cinema ), Khadi House, Agrasen ki Baoli, Palika Bazaar ( a shopping complex where can get everything under one roof, bargaining is necessary though ), Janpath, and the Emporiums of each state of India , any more. You cannot roam around the whole place in a day; it is advisable to first relish the important spots of CP!
But what not miss as a visitor is Pan at the Odeon, Block A. If your taste buds get hanger over south Indian dishes, do visit Saravana Bhavan, Block P.
