All you need to know about Panch Pulla and Satdhara Falls in Dalhousie

Dalhousie is famous for its sparkling streams and waterfalls, especially Panch Pulla and the Satdhara Falls which fall en-route. Both these spots are located amidst rocky terrain wrapped in lush vegetation, making them ideal for short getaway. Cool waters collecting at the base of the falls make a great plunge pool, inviting you to take a dip. Waters at the Satdhara are known to have healing properties as they pass through mineral (mica) rich terrain. The beautiful cascades of water in this picturesque setting are a photographer’s delight!

Tourist Attraction

The impressive Satdhara falls on the way to Panch Pulla comprise 7 streams of water falling through 2036 meters to create a pool of therapeutic water at the base. The hilly terrain covered by dense forests giving way to the gushing waters of Satdhara makes a pretty picture.

Panch Pulla is just a short walk away from Gandhi Chowk (Dalhousie) and is also the starting point for treks to Dainkund and other nearby areas. The main stream of Panchpula, originating from Dainkund is the prime water source of Dalhousie and surrounding areas. The waterfalls and the different bridges that traverse the streams of water are a visual treat. You can go boating on the stream here.

The Samadhi of revolutionary freedom fighter, Sardar Ajit Singh is also located at Panch Pulla, where he spent his last days. The monument, right at the scenic confluence of several small streams is quite memorable.
