Places To Visit in Legship
1. Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this shrine is believed to be the oldest in the town, where three deities are worshipped, Lord Shiva, Lord Rama and Goddess Durga. Eye-catching architecture that is designed from small bricks of the temple is unique in itself, and the structure is built to accommodate 500 pilgrims at a time.
2. Sulphurous Hot Springs
Located at a mere distance of 4 km from the main town of legship, hot spring has an abundance of natural medicinal properties, tourist can enjoy the bath in hot springs throughout the year. Based near to other tourist attractions, this place is renowned as the ‘Phu Cha Chu’ amongst the localities.
3. Lho Khando Sang Pho Caves
One of the four most prominent caves in Sikkim, Lho Khando Sang Pho Caves, have religious values in this region. Being the prestigious Buddhist pilgrimage, it is believed that it comes under one of the four caves where the greatest Buddhist master Guru Rinpoche used to meditate during the 8th century.
4. Rangit River Dam
A lake type structure established just to attract tourist at a Dam site. Rangit water dam is based as a Hydel project, installed by National Hydel Power Corporation (NHPC) in Legship. Well, gradually the place has become a favourite picnic spot for local people.
