1. Varkala Beach
One of the most spectacular and scenic beaches in the world, Varkala is a haven for solitude seekers. 2. Janardhan Swamy Temple
Also known as Varkala Temple, is considered to be one of the oldest temples in Kerala. Janardhan Swamy is a form of Lord Vishnu as the resident deity. Since 12th century this temple is established as a religious spot of Kerala.
3. Sivagiri Mutt

4. Ponnumthuruthu
This uninhabited picturesque island in Akathumuri Lake is set amidst the Anjengo backwaters close to Varkala. 5. Anjengo Fort
Translating it means to ‘a crystal rock’; the Spathik Shila is said to be a place where there are two massive rocks pertaining to the footprints of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. It is located in between a dense forestry region very close to the Janaki Kund bordering the banks of the River Mandakini.
6. Kappil Lake/Beach
Just 4 Km off Varkala is one of the most scenic serene and spectacular beaches of Kerala, which also doubles up as an estuary where the waters of the Kappil Lake merge with the Arabian Sea. A unique confluence of the sea, backwaters and lake is a rare sight that is sheer delight for avid photographers.
7. Varkala Tunnel
