All you need to know about The Kanchenjunga Falls in Pelling
Located at a mere distance of 30 km from the bewitching beauty of Pelling are the perennial waters of the Kanchenjunga waterfalls. One of the most visited tourist attraction in the region, it is said that the pure and clear waters of the falls originate high up the glaciers of Mount Kanchenjunga. The waterfalls have been hidden from the atrocities of humanity against nature due to its amalgamation with thick forest covers. Forests protected the waterfalls from human sights till the 90s.
The place has a peaceful and reviving aura attached to it, and the only sounds reaching your ears are the gushing waters of the waterfalls and the birds chirping in amazement. Owing to its popularity, the place is visited by large crowds of people living their lives with an absolute calm, a perfect for a picnic with friends or family.
Certain infrastructures have been erected where you can find cafes, stalls in the vicinity of the appealing waterfalls. Your visit to Sikkim is incomplete without picturesque views and infinite clicks of these falls. You will have to climb a certain 15-20 rocks and then reach a gushing stream with broken stones where certain young volunteers will help you climbing further up. Adventure activities like rope sliding and trekking can also be enjoyed here.

The place is open from 4:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Try going a little early before the ticket counter gets really crowded.

The nearest railway station to the city is the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station in West Bengal situated at a distance of 170 km and takes around 5 hours and 37 minutes to reach the lake. The nearest airport is the Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri in Darjeeling.
